ΟΡΕΣΤΗΣ ΓΙΩΤΑΚΟΣ

Ψυχίατρος

Ο Ορεστης Γιωτάκος ολοκλήρωσε τις βασικές του σπουδές στην Στρατιωτική Ιατρική Σχολή, στη Θεσσαλονίκη το 1985.

Το 1992 απέκτησε την ειδικότητα του Ψυχιάτρου στο Νοσοκομείο «Ευαγγελισμός», το 1998 το MSc in Neuroscience στο Institute of Psychiatry στο Λονδίνο, ενώ από το 2003 είναι Διδάκτωρ της Ιατρικής Σχολής του Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών. Έχει πλούσιο συγγραφικό και ερευνητικό έργο στo χώρο της Ψυχιατρικής, στους τομείς Ψυχοπαθολογίας και Πρόληψης.

Διετέλεσε Διευθυντής της Ψυχιατρικής Κλινικής 414 Στρατιωτικού Νοσοκομείου Αθηνών (2009-2016). Είναι ιδρυτής της αμκε «ομπρέλα - Νευροεπιστήμες & Ψυχική Υγεία» (www.obrela.gr), Editor του περιοδικού “Dialogues in Clinical Neuroscience & Mental Health” (www.obrela-journal.gr), ιδρυτής της καμπάνιας “I care for my brain” (www.icareformybrain.org) και Πρόεδρος της Ελληνικής Εταιρείας Σεξολογίας και Διαφυλικών Σχέσεων (www.sexology.com.gr)

Orestis Giotakos

Psychiatrist

Orestis Giotakos graduated from the Military Medical School, University of Thessaloniki, Greece, and he has been working as a Military Psychiatrist since 1992.

He obtained the M.Sc. in Neuroscience at the Institute of Psychiatry, London, and the Ph.D. at the Medical School of Athens. He has conducted several investigations and has written a number of articles and books in psychopathology and in prevention strategies.

He is the founder of the npo “obrela – Neuroscience & Mental Health” (www.obrela.gr), the editor of the Journal “Dialogues in Clinical Neuroscience & Mental Health” (www.obrela-journal.gr), the director of the project “I care for my brain” (www.icareformybrain.org) and the president of the Hellenic Association of Sexology & Sexual Relationships (www.sexology.com.gr).

This campaign demands a unique warning sign which tells us about the presence of psychoactive substances on any product we buy.

We know that both legal and illegal psychoactive drugs demand caution, since they affect brain function, producing alterations in sensation, perception, mood, consciousness, cognition, and behavior.

We believe that product labeling is the main component of a comprehensive public health strategy, that aims to reduce, both legal and illegal, psychoactive substances-related harm.

We vote: “Yes, I demand a unique warning sign, which tells me about the presence of psychoactive substances on any product I buy”
